Deleting entities from a policy

Use the procedures in this topic to delete CPCIDs or subpolicies from a policy, or to delete an LPAR or group from a policy or subpolicy:

To delete a CPCID

Type DEL in the CMD column next to an existing CPCID and press ENTER (or in MainView Explorer, right-click the CPCID and select Line action > Delete something from a policy).

iCap deletes the CPCID and the LPARs and groups that are running on the CPC from the policy.

To delete a subpolicy

Type DEL in the CMD column next to a subpolicy and press ENTER (or in MainView Explorer, right-click the subpolicy name and select Line action > Delete something from a policy).

iCap deletes the subpolicy and the LPARs and groups contained in the subpolicy from the policy. You can add the LPARs and groups to the main policy. For more information, see Adding-entities-to-a-policy.

To delete an LPAR or group

Type DEL in the CMD column next to an LPAR or group and press ENTER (or in MainView Explorer, right-click the LPAR or group name and select Line action > Delete something from a policy).

Tip

  • You can discard any changes and start over by entering REFRESH on the COMMAND line.
  • To save your changes, type SAVE on the COMMAND line.
If you exit the policy without saving, your changes will be lost.
