Master PAS guidelines

When choosing a system to run the iCap master PAS, choose one that meets the following guidelines:

  • Runs IBM z/OS Version 2.4 or later
  • Runs iCap version 3.1

Important

The master PAS must be running same version of iCap as the agent PASs, or a later version. If the master PAS is running an earlier version than the agent PASs, functionality is restricted.

  • Runs on a PAS where only iCap is running. That is, the iCap master PAS cannot run on a PAS that is shared with other BMC AMI Ops products.
  • Is expected to have the highest level of performance at the peak of the CPC’s CPU utilization
  • Rarely requires IPL

  • Has the z/OS started task HWIBCPII active

    HWIBCPII is required to accept requests from the master PAS to alter DCs and GCLs.
