Designing your JAL

We begin by identifying the Action Language as JAL. Although the Language Processor assumes that you are processing JAL if the Action Language is not identified, including a PROCEDURE statement is a good documentation practice and helps to avoid mistakes. The statement is:

PROCEDURE ID(JAL) DESC('Sample JAL')

Since JAL is executed in a single pass, all Properties and Messages must be defined before they are used; therefore we next define the Properties needed to analyze the workload, as well as any messages that might be issued.
