DAL and JAL expressions
By using logic operators, you can combine the language elements described in the previous sections into expressions. The supported logic operators are:
- A logical NOT, represented by the character "¬".
- A logical AND, represented by the character "&".
- A logical OR, represented by the character "|".
The logic operators are listed in order of processing priority, with the unary NOT operator having the highest priority and the binary OR operator having the lowest priority. You can use parentheses to indicate the desired order of evaluation.
The resulting expressions are always enclosed within parentheses, and consist of character Descriptors and/or previously defined Properties combined through the use of logic operators. You can then use these expressions to decide how a job or DD statement is to be handled.
