Working with the charting area


This topic describes the MLC and TFP Monthly Summary Reports charting area.

You can use the charting area to compare charts of R4HA MSU Utilization.

The MLC Monthly Summary Report provides a charting area when analyzing data in a drill-down level for a specific CPC or MLC Product. The following figures show CPC and MLC Product levels with charts in the charting area:

To add or remove charts from the charting area

You can view charts showing the contribution of particular MLC products or LPARs, as follows:

  1. Using the hyperlinks, drill down to a CPC level or MLC Product level.
  2. In the Visibility column, select the box next to the MLC Product (in a CPC level report) or next to an LPAR (in an MLC Product level report) to add the chart to the charting area.
    The charting area displays the R4HA MSU Utilization chart for the selected MLC product or LPAR. The following table describes additional actions that you can perform to assist in the analysis of the chart:

    Description

    Identify points on the chart with the date and hour they occurred

    Hover the mouse over any point on the chart to view the date and hour it occurred.

    View hourly interval details

    1. Click on any point in the chart to view the hourly interval details.
      The interval details show the total utilization and a breakdown of the utilization for particular MLC products or LPARs that are also selected in the charting area. For any set of utilization that you want to examine, you can see how many MSUs you are examining out of the total number of MSUs utilized during the interval.
    2. Clickprevious interval.PNGornext interval.PNGto examine the previous or next interval.
    3. Click sort order.PNGto change the sort order of the view.
      You can sort by name or MSU value.
    4. Use the scroll bar to scroll down the list of LPARs.
    5. Click Maximizemaximize.PNGto view a pop out chart and list of interval details in a separate window.

    Zoom in on an area of the chart

    1. Click and drag between any two points on the chart to zoom in on the selected area.
    2. To assist in the analysis of the zoom view, you can:

      • View the entire monthly chart, which is highlighted as a histogram at the top of the charting area
      • Adjust the selected area by using the slider controls
    Warning

    Note

    The histogram chart enables you to see the monthly chart area that you are examining in the zoom view. This can help you to find specific peaks and valleys of the chart.

    Restore the charting area view to show the chart for the entire month

    Click Show all.

    Export the chart as an image

    1. Hover over Chart Actionsexport as image.PNG.
    2. Hover over Export as image.
    3. Click the export file type.
      The chart is exported as an image to the browser.
    Warning

    Note

    You can export the chart as a PNG, JPG, or PDF file.

    Export the chart to a CSV file

    1. Hover over Chart Actions export as image.PNG.
    2. Click Export to CSV.
      The CSV file is exported to the browser.

    View a table of the chart data details

    1. Hover over Chart Actionsexport as image.PNG.
    2. Click Data Grid View.
      The charting area displays a tabular view of the charting area data that details each hourly interval and the utilization for each MLC product (in a CPC level report) or LPAR (in an MLC Product level report).
    3. Click Back to chart to return to the chart view.

    View the chart in a separate window

    1. Click Maximizemaximize.PNGto view a pop out chart and list of interval details in a separate window.
    2. Click Restore minimize.PNGto restore the view to the charting area.

    View charts for only the selected MLC products or the selected LPARs

    1. In the Visibility column, select the MLC product charts or LPAR charts that you want to view in the charting area.
    2. Clear Show CPC R4HA data series in chart? check box.


TFP Monthly Summary Report charting area

You can use the charting area to compare charts of MSUs By Hour.

The TFP Monthly Summary Report provides a charting area when analyzing data in a drill-down level for a specific TFP solution. The following figure shows a TFP Solution level with charts in the charting area:

To add or remove charts from the charting area

You can view charts showing the contribution of one or more LPARs, as follows:

  1. Using the hyperlinks, drill down to a TFP Solution level.
  2. In the Visibility column, select the box next to an LPAR to add the chart to the charting area.
    The charting area displays the MSU Utilization by LPAR chart for the selected LPAR. The following table describes additional actions you can perform to assist in the analysis of the chart:
