Opening a plan
Use the following procedure to open a plan.
- From the Cost Management console, click the MLC Planning tool tab.
In the Actions pane, click Open Plan.
From the Open Plan dialog box, select the plan you want to open and click Open Plan.
The MLC Planning tool opens the Plan as shown in the following figure:

1 Actions Pane You can perform the following actions:
- Create a new plan based on your workload or one selected workloads. For more information, see Creating plans
- Open an existing plan to review it.
- Delete plans that are no longer needed.
Save a copy of a plan

2 Plan usage month Month and year of plan 3 Plan name The name of the plan
The icon indicates the plan type:
- LPAR and Workloads plan
- Job and STC plan
4 List of CPCs Click a CPC to view CPC level reports and charts. 5 List of LPARs on the CPC Click an LPAR to view LPAR level reports and charts. 6 Toolbar buttons You can use the toolbar buttons to perform the actions described in the table below. 7 Information message Status of the Evaluation Summary Report for the plan
Click View details to open the Application Messaging Viewer dialog box to view the messages returned from the evaluation process.
8 Viewer Displays reports, charts, and evaluation details for the selected plan. Toolbar button

View changes made to the plan.
View plan evaluation results.
Modify the plan.

Close the plan.
Perform one of the following actions:
- Click a CPC to view CPC level reports and charts.
- Click an LPAR to view LPAR level reports and charts.
The MLC Planning tool opens the selected object. Depending on which level you select, you can perform operations on the objects of the CPC level or LPAR level. For more information, see Overview-of-LPAR-and-Workload-plans.
