Installing the Cost Management Model Builder Proxy


Use the following procedure to install a configuration of the Cost Management Model Builder Proxy. The program and its dependencies are located in a proxy application folder in the Cost Management product installation directory.

Important

If you are using Cost Management Scheduling Services to run the Model Builder Task at a specific time, you can skip this task.

Before you begin

Ensure that the following conditions exist on the machine you want to run the Proxy:

  • Automator is currently installed and running
  • .NET 4.5 or higher is installed

If necessary, you can copy the contents of the proxy application folder to any machine where Automator is currently running.

Important

The following conditions also apply:

  • When installing a configuration of the Cost Management Model Builder Proxy, you should run the application from the same user account that runs the scheduled model builder task.  Model builder tasks are scheduled to run in Automator or another scheduling application.
  • If you want to install the Model Builder Proxy on a machine where Cost Management is not installed, then you first need to execute the proxy as an administrator with the /register parameter. For more information, see Registering-the-Model-Builder-Proxy-event-viewer-log.

To install Cost Management Model Builder Proxy

  1. Find the proxy application by navigating to the Cost Management installation folder.By default, the 64-bit OS folder location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software\SCA\Services\MBProxyBin\SCAModelBuildProxy.exe.

    The following figure shows a sample location for the proxy application:

  2. In the proxy folder, run the SCAModelBuildProxy.exe program.The Cost Management Model Builder Proxy dialog box is displayed.

    The fields in the dialog box display data by default.

  3. Check the field data for accuracy and click Close.
