Displaying Cost Management log files


This topic describes how to display the log files that 

BMC AMI Cost Management

 produces. BMC Customer Support might ask you to review these log files as part of problem diagnosis.

Note

Cost Management does not automatically send Trace messages to the log file. If you want to view Trace messages, you need to enable the use of Trace messages. For more information, see Enabling-Trace-messages-to-the-log-file.

 To display log files

  1. From the Cost Management console, click Administration Tools.
  2. From the Administration Tools list, click Application Log Viewer.The Application Log Viewer dialog box is displayed.

  3. Click the tab for the log file that you want to display as described in the following table: 

    File name

    Description

    Model Build Logs

    Temporal tracking of the Model Build Tasks

    MLC Contract Build logs

    Temporal tracking of the MLC Contracts

    Model Build Event Logs

    Monitoring and troubleshooting information about the Model Build Event process

    You can limit the type of messages that are displayed to All, Error, Warning, or Informational.

    Service Event Logs

    Monitoring and troubleshooting information about the product’s core services

    You can limit the type of messages that are displayed to All, Error, Warning, or Informational.

    RBA Audit Logs

    Temporal tracking of the Role-Based Access (RBA) Audit logs

    Audit Logs

    Temporal tracking information about all transactions associated with the product's web services

  4. (Optional) Click the filter tabs to refine the list by message type.For more information, see Filtering-the-messages-displayed-in-a-log.

    Note

    The filters are only available for MLC Contract Build Logs and Model Build Logs.




 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
