 provides group-based Cost Managemen t, Administration, Reporting, and Planning tools.

Cost Management Tools

Note

You need to be a BMC AMI Cost Management Cost Administrator to access the Cost Management Tools. For more information, see Cost-Management-User-Groups.

BMC AMI Cost Management Cost Administrators can access tools that:

  • Specify duration and parameters for IBM software contracts
  • Configure CPC pricing metrics and PricingPlex
  • Specify cost coefficient values for MLC products
  • Create new TFP configurations

Cost Management Tools

Description

Manage Software Contracts

Add, modify or remove software contracts

You can perform the following tasks:

  • Define the duration, total budget, and periods of your IBM contract
  • Specify the budget amount for specific months during a period
  • Account for any Cost Table change events that will take affect during the term of the contract

MSU Cost Editor

Setup and manage the cost structure of MLC products for your enterprise based on your agreement with IBM

You can perform the following tasks:

  • Edit cost tables and assign cost coefficients to predefined MSU ranges for individual MLC products
  • Specify pricing metric override values
  • Specify if MLC products are covered by a Single Version Charge (SVC) agreement
  • Specify reporting locale

Manage TFP Configurations

Configure and create one or more TFP solutions for better cost management

You can perform the following tasks:

  • Create multiple TFP solutions
  • Add, modify, or remove TFP solutions
  • Add different combinations of LPARs to your TFP solutions based on your requirements
  • Assign a solution for DevTest

Administration Tools

Note

You need to be a BMC AMI Cost Management Product Administrator to access the Administration Tools. For more information, see Cost-Management-User-Groups.

BMC AMI Cost Management Product Administrators can access tools that can:

  • Manage profiles that BMC AMI Cost Management uses to access data
  • Build models that determine the composition of the data
  • View Application, Service, and Model Build log files
  • Configure BMC AMI Cost Management with Compuware's iStrobe

Administration Tool

Description

Manage CDB Server Profiles

Add, modify, or remove CDB server profiles

This tool also provides a list of the available CDB Server profiles once they have been added by the administrator.

Manage Model Builder Tasks

Add, modify or remove Model Builder Tasks

You can perform the following actions to your cost models:

  • Specify different workload types and filters
  • Gather data from different Capacity Database Web Services servers and databases
  • Setup time zone offsets
  • Exclude particular LPARs from the model
  • Designate zNALC LPARs to include in the model
  • Include mobile workload transaction reductions in the model
  • Schedule the Model Builder Task to run at a specific time on specific days

This tool provides a list of the available Model Builder Tasks that have been created by the administrator. Additionally, you have the option to run any task immediately.
