Using the Manage TFP Configurations tool
Use the following procedure to create solutions for your TFP agreements.
To create or add a TFP Configuration
- From the Cost Management Tools list, select Manage TFP Configurations.
The Manage TFP Configurations dialog box is displayed. When you use the Manage TFP Configurations for the first time, the Available TFP Configurations field is empty. After you add the TFP configurations to the Manage TFP Configuration tool, the Available TFP Configurations field displays them. - Click Add or Click here to create a new TFP Configuration in the Available TFP Configuration field to create a TFP configuration.
The Add TFP Configuration dialog box is displayed. - In the Name field, enter a name for the TFP configuration.
(Optional) In the Description field, add a description for the TFP.
You can create multiple solutions for each TFP configuration by using the Create Solution option. The Create Solution option has further three options—General, Cost, and LPARs. To create a solution, you must complete the fields in each of these options. The General and Cost options require information defined by IBM based on your agreement. The LPARs option lets you select different combinations of LPARs to create one or more solutions for each TFP configuration.
- Click Create Solution.
By default, the Create Solution field displays New Solution 1. You can rename it using the Solution Name field and entering the other details. - On the General tab:
- In the Solution Name field, enter a solution name.
- In the Solutions ID field, enter the solution ID provided by IBM.
- On the Cost tab:
- In the Average Monthly MSU Entitlement field, enter the average number of MSU that you are entitled to based on your TFP agreement with IBM.
- In the Cost per MSU field, enter the cost defined for each MSU when within your MSU entitlement limit.
- In the Cost per MSU Over Entitlement field, enter the cost defined for each MSU after you exceed your MSU entitlement limit.
- On the LPARs tab:
- From the Add LPARs to Solution list, select one or more LPARs to associate with your solution.
The selected LPARs populate in the Solution LPARs field and are automatically added to the solution. Use the month picker
in the Add LPARs to Solutions field to select a month for cost modeling.
After you select a month, all the LPARs available for that month are displayed in the list.
- From the Add LPARs to Solution list, select one or more LPARs to associate with your solution.
- (Optional) To remove one or more LPARs from a solution, in the Solution LPARs field, select the LPARs that you want to remove and click Remove.
- To add another solution to your TFP configuration, click Create Solution and repeat the steps in this procedure.
- Click Add Configuration.
The Manage TFP Configurations dialog box is displayed. The Available TFP Configurations field now displays the TFP configurations that you added. - Click Save Changes.
To select a solution for DevTest
- In the Create Solution field, click the solution that you want to select for DevTest.
On the General tab, select the IS DevTest check box.
The solution selected for DevTest displaysnext to it.
- On the Cost tab, in the DevTest Fixed Cost field, enter the cost defined for DevTest by IBM.
When you select a solution for DevTest, the Cost per MSU field is replaced by DevTest Fixed Cost field. - Click Add Configuration.
- Click Save Changes.
To delete a solution from a TFP configuration
- Click the solution that you want to delete in the Create Solution field.
- Click Delete Solution and save the changes.
To modify a TFP configuration
- In the Manage TFP Configurations dialog box, from the Available TFP Configurations field, select a configuration.
- Click Modify.
The Modify TFP Configuration dialog box is displayed. - Modify the information by adding or deleting solutions or LPARs.
- Click Modify Configuration.
The Manage TFP Configurations dialog box is displayed. - Click Save Changes.
To select a TFP configuration template
In the Add TFP Configuration dialog box, click Template and select a TFP configuration from the list.
All the solutions that you created for the selected TFP configuration populate the Add Solutions field.
To remove a TFP configuration
- In the Manage TFP Configurations dialog box, select the TFP configuration that you want to remove from the list.
- Click Remove.
- Click Save Changes.
