Using the Manage CPC Configurations tool

Use the following procedure to verify that your CPCs are configured correctly to their Pricing Metric Type and applicable PricingPlex names. If necessary, you can edit the information to align the CPCs with the correct values.

Before you begin

You must run at least one successful Model Builder Task before using the Manage CPC Configurations. For more information, see Defining-Model-Builder-Tasks.

To verify and edit the CPC configuration

  1. From the console, click Cost Management Tools.
  2. From the Cost Management Tools list, click Manage CPC Configurations.
The Manage CPC Configurations dialog box lists CPCs, their Pricing Metric Type, and if applicable, the names of their PricingPlex.image2020-8-4_18-48-11.png
  3. (Optional) Select any of the following special pricing conditions that apply:

    • Use Country Multiplex Pricing?
    • Use Sysplex Pricing?
    • Use MVM Pricing?

    Note

The following conditions apply to using special pricing:

    • Selecting Yes for Use Country Multiplex Pricing? deactivates both Sysplex pricing and MVM pricing and makes them unavailable for selection.
    • Selecting Yes for Use MVM Pricing? overrides Single Version Charging in the MSU Cost Editor. As a result, if you specified Single Version Charging for particular MLC products when you edited the cost coefficients, Cost Management ignores any links you established between the associated versions of the MLC products.
  4. Check that each CPC has the correct Pricing Metric Type and PricingPlex name (if applicable). The configuration does not require editing unless a discrepancy exists. If the CPC is configured correctly, no further action is necessary and you can skip to Step 8.
  5. (Optional) For any CPC that you want to edit, perform the following actions:
    1. For each PricingPlex Type, select the PricingPlex name that applies to the CPC.

      Note

To remove the PricingPlex name from a CPC, click the blank space in the list of names.

    2. For each Pricing Metric Type, select the Pricing Metric Type that applies to the CPC.
  6. (Optional) To add a PricingPlex name that is not on the list, perform the following actions:
    1. Click the Manage link.
    2. In the Manage PricingPlex dialog box, enter the name of the PricingPlex.
    3. Click Accept to add the name to the list.
    4. Find the CPC to which you want to add the new PricingPlex name, and select the new name from that CPC's PricingPlex drop-down box.
The PricingPlex name displays in the box configured to the CPC.
    5. Repeat Step 6.d for each CPC to which you want to add the new PricingPlex name.
  7. (Optional) To remove a PricingPlex name from the list, perform the following actions:
    1. Click the Manage link.
    2. In the Manage PricingPlex dialog box, select the names of the PricingPlexes that you want to remove from the list of Existing PricingPlexes.
    3. Click Remove.
The PricingPlexes are removed from the list of Existing PricingPlexes.
    4. Click Accept
  8.  In the Manage CPC Configurations dialog box, click Save Changes.

Where to go from here

After editing the CPC configuration, the changes are applied to the next scheduled run of the Model Builder Task and affect only the cost model for the current month.

If the CPC configuration changes should be applied to a previous month, you need to rebuild the cost models for those months by running the Model Builder Task manually and selecting the appropriate months to rebuild. For more information, see Running-the-Model-Builder-Task-manually.
