Assigning users to Cost Management User Groups


Use the following procedure to assign a user to a 

BMC AMI Cost Management

 User Group.

Before a user can begin to use BMC AMI Cost Management product, the user must be assigned to a BMC AMI Cost Management User Group. The group assignment determines the user's access to BMC AMI Cost Management components.

To assign a user to a Cost Management User Group

  1. In Microsoft Windows, navigate to Computer Management.
  2. In the left pane, expand Local Users and Groups and select the Groups folder.
  3. From the list in the Groups folder, select the BMC AMI Cost Management User Group that you want to assign to the user.

    Note

    Each BMC AMI Cost Management group provides different functionality to the user by allowing access to particular BMC AMI Cost Management components. Determine which BMC AMI Cost Management components the user should have access to and then assign the user to the appropriate group. For more information, see BMC Cost Management User Groups.

  4. In the Properties dialog box, click Add.
  5. In the Select users, Computers, Service Accounts or Groups dialog box, enter the object names to select. Then click Check Names.Windows verifies your credentials and adds the new name to the BMC AMI Cost Management group.
  6. Click OK.The Select users, Computers, Service accounts or Groups dialog box closes.
  7. From the Properties dialog box of the BMC AMI Cost Management Group, verify that the new name displays in the list of members.
  8. Click OK.
