Best Practice
For better performance, we recommend that you install the Capacity Database Web Services on the same server as the relational database management system (RDBMS), such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle. For more information about installing Capacity Database Web Services, see Installing BMC AMI Capacity Database Web Services.

Network delays between Capacity Database Web Services and the RDBMS can significantly affect Cost Management  performance for the model build process and Job/STC reporting and planning operations.

You can install Cost Management on the same machine as Capacity Database Web Services.
