Automation viewers

The BMC AMI Console Automation viewer is the primary application for mainframe operators. BMC AMI Console Automation viewers are defined by administrators and are launched by operators from the Automation Viewers page.

There are two types of viewers:

  • Browser-based viewer—This viewer runs in a web browser with no additional software components that need to be installed. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox are the three supported browsers. To launch the browser-based viewer, click Open browser-based viewer. A new browser window will open.
  • Legacy (Java) viewer—This viewer requires Java 8 to be installed on your computer with the Java Web Start feature enabled. To open the legacy viewer, navigate to the desired viewer and click the Web start link for the viewer.
