Defining the Tomcat roles

The Console Management administrator pages define the following roles for access. These names are case-sensitive.

  • IOCADMIN—This role enables the user to access all areas of Console Management configuration. It is equivalent to assigning all three roles (mvcmadmin, linuxadmin, useradmin) to a single user.
  • mvcmadmin—This role enables the user to configure and control (start and stop) Console Consolidation and Console Automation servers; to access General Settings - System Information, License Manager, and Saved Configurations. This role does not provide access to Linux (linuxadmin) and User (useradmin) pages.
  • linuxadmin—This role enables the user to access Install History, Install Add-On button, the Shutdown or Restart pages, and the General Settings - Server Certificate page. This role does not provide access to MVCM (mvcmadmin) and User (useradmin) pages.
  • useradmin—This role enables the user to access Authentication Server, create or modify users, and resource assignments. This role does not provide access to General Settings - Administrator Accounts, MVCM (mvcmadmin), and Linux (linuxadmin) pages.

    Note

Unless you require the additional roles, we recommend that you use the IOCADMIN full-access role only in your Active Directory setup.
