Configuring application settings for nightly process email notifications

You can configure the system to send email notifications to all dashboard owners and published stakeholders after each run of the nightly process. The emails include the statuses of all dashboards that were run during the nightly process, and are associated with the owners and published stakeholders. 

To configure the application settings

1. On the Administration Tools tab, click Application Settings.
   The Application Settings feature can only be accessed and modified by a BMC AMI Capacity Reporting product administrator.
2. In the Application Settings dialog box, enter the following details:

   Field	Action
   SMTP Server Name	Enter the server URI or name that you are using to send email notifications.
   SMTP Server Port Number	Enter the port number of the email server that you are using to send email notifications.
   Use TLS	Select this checkbox to send the email notifications by using the TLS protocol.
   Reply-to Email Address	Enter the email address that should appear as the sender and be used for replies when the product sends out email notifications.
   Smart Dashboard Alert Notification	Select the Enable Email Notifications checkbox to enable the email notifications. When enabled, email notifications are sent to all dashboard owners and stakeholders after each successful run of the nightly process.
   Clear Setting/Test Settings	Click Clear Settings to remove all entries. Click Test Settings to test whether the system is sending email notifications to the reply-to email address, to validate the SMTP configuration.

    

3. Click Save and Close.

To add the recipient's email address for nightly process notification

1. On the main menu toolbar, click User Profile > View.

2. On the Email tab, enter the following details to receive the nightly process email notifications.
   You can customize the email settings based on your requirements. Disabling email notifications does not affect other product users. 

   Field	Action
   Email Address	Add the email address to receive email notifications. Click Test to check whether the system is sending the email notification to the recipient. Before using this feature, make sure an administrator has configured the application email settings.
   Additional Email Addresses	Add the email addresses of the additional recipients of the email notifications.
   Disable Email Notifications	Select this checkbox to discontinue receiving the nightly process email notifications.
   Clear settings	Click to clear the current settings.

3. Click Save and Close to save the entries and close the dialog box.
