Adding a DSN to the CDB Automator catalog

This topic describes how to add a Data Source Name (DSN) to the CDB Automator. This involves setting up the server and configuring the database clients.

To add a DSN to the CDB Automator catalog

  1. Install the Capacity Database Web Services. For more information, see Installing-BMC-AMI-Capacity-Database-Web-Services
  2. Create an ODBC Data Source Name (DSN) entry by performing one of the following tasks, depending on your database:

    Database

    Reference

SQL Server database by using SQL Server Authentication

SQL Server database by using Windows Authentication

    Oracle database

  3. Add a database to the Automator catalog, see How to add a database to the Automator Catalog

    Important

Before Capacity Database Web Services can use a database, you must add the database to the Automator Catalog.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
