To configure BMC CDB Services Binding Information

Perform this procedure if the CDB Services Binding Information page is displayed while you are installing Capacity Database Web Services.

Important

The CDB Services Binding Information page is displayed only when you select the HTTPS protocol on the IIS Advanced Options page and the install cannot resolve the server name with the common name on the SSL certificate.

The install tests the server name obtained via Dns.GetHostName. If the test fails, the install uses the array of domain suffixes in the SearchList registry entry:

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\SearchList

The install appends a domain suffix to the server name and runs the test. If a test is successful, the install continues. If none of the tests are successful, the CDB Services Binding Information page is displayed.

  1. In the CDB Server field, enter the SSL certificate’s common name in the form of a fully qualified domain name.

  2. Click Test CDB Connection to verify the connection, then click OK.

If prompted, you must restart your computer before accessing Capacity Database Web Services.
