Quick start: Using workflows and dashboards


BMC AMI Capacity Reporting includes product-provided workflow templates that use data science to help you understand the deviations that triggered the impact. These workflow templates are designed to detect anomalies in applications, hardware, and system software.

This topic briefly describes how to use the product-provided workflow templates, build a business-specific workflow from scratch, and add those workflows to your dashboards.

Create workflows on the Workflow Builder tab using the product-provided workflow templates, and customize them based on your site requirements.

Create a workflow from scratch.

Create a dashboard on the Smart Dashboards tab and assign one or more workflows to it.

Run the nightly batch process.

You must add the nightly batch process to the Automator script as part of the nightly CDB VIS load process, which detects anomalies.

If false alarms occur, modify the rules in the rule editor. Then test the changed rules in the workflow view by using Run Query with Alerts on each category in the views to verify that it doesn’t create false alarms.

(Optional) Publish the workflows to non-administrative users.
