Using the Banding and the Min/Max options

You can use the Banding option to analyze a series. When you use banding on a series, the upper and lower statistical boundaries for a given metric and object are displayed in the chart. The width of the band is defined by the standard deviation and median calculated for a given object/metric taking into account its weekly shift activity.

The Banding option is available only when you select the Measured option in the Data-Granularity field. The chart displays the upper and lower statistical bands for a selected object and metric.

To see the Statistical band

  1. To see the Statistical band, click banding_option.PNGunder the Actions column.

    Important

Bands are always calculated for all metrics and objects, but it is visible only for one Metric/Object at a time. Use Advanced Filter Options in the Filter Actions to control the width of the band.

When Banding is selected, the low band and high band values are displayed. You can adjust the banding width of a metric by using the Lower and Upper Bands option.
You can adjust alerts for each metric by changing the upper and lower limit of the band width.

  2. To adjust the lower and upper limits of the banding, select Advanced Filter Options in the Filter Actions, and click Lower and Upper Bands

    Important

When you adjust the upper and lower band sensitivity, it is applied to all objects for the selected Metric.
