Purpose

Action

Turn on or off the axis grid in the chart

Click Show axis grid. By default, the Show axis grid is selected.

Change the color of the grid

Click Axis Color. From the color picker, change the color of the grid.

Make every data point on the chart appear as a bullet point

From the Show value markers menu, select On, Off, or Auto. The default value is Off.

Important

Enabling value markers for large amounts of data can impact chart rendering performance.

Selecting the On option makes every data point on the chart appear as a bullet point.

Selecting the Auto option lets the chart decide when to show the markers. If there are too many data points to show the markers clearly, the chart disables the markers until you zoom in to a point where they can be displayed.

To see the data points of a particular section of a chart, click and drag the cursor to select that section. The chart zooms in to show the value markers in that section.

To select a marker style for the bullet points, select one of the following options from the Marker Style list: Circle, Square, Diamond, Triangle, or Triangle-down.

Important

  • Enabling or disabling this option at the metric level affects the value markers for all objects under that metric.
  • Enabling or disabling this option at the object level affects only the value markers for that object.

Label the data points

Select Show label markers. All data points now display the values associated with them.

Important

  • Enabling or disabling this option at the metric level affects the data labels for all the objects under that metric.
  • Enabling or disabling this option at the object level affects only the data labels for that object.

Change the chart type at the metric level

Select the relevant chart type from the Series Type list:

  • Line—generate a line chart
  • Area—generate an area chart
  • Column—generate a column chart

Stack the charts

From the Stack Series list, select one of the following to stack or unstack all series for a given metric:

  • Unstacked(Default) Unstacks all series for a given metric.
  • Stacked—Stacks all series for a given metric.
  • 100%—Stacks all series for a given metric up to 100 percent.

Important

You can stack only those objects on a chart that are associated with the same metric because stacking works per category or metric. You cannot stack all series on a chart if they are associated with different metrics.

Set the minimum value of the axis

Select the Use Minimum Value check box and use the arrow to set the value in the Axis Minimum Value field.

Set the maximum value of the axis

Select the Use Maximum Value check box and use the arrow to set the value in the Axis Maximum Value field.

Important

Selecting the Use Minimum Value or Use Maximum Value check boxes overrides the charts default minimum and maximum values. Clear the boxes to allow the chart to calculate the minimum and maximum value for the metric axis.
