Defining shift profiles


Use the following procedure to define and add a shift profile that corresponds to your activity for a typical shift. When you select a shift profile as the current shift profile, the product sends it for Analytics.

To define a shift profile

  1. In the application toolbar, click Administration Tools.
  2. In the Administration Tools menu, click Manage Shift Profiles.
  3. In the Manage Shift Profiles dialog box, click Add to open the Add Shift Profile dialog box.

    Note

    If you are installing this version of the product for the first time, BMCDefaultShiftProfile2 is installed as the current analytics profile when you click Manage Shift Profile. You can select another shift profile as the current analytics profile.

    If you are upgrading to version 2.1 from version 2.0 of the product:

    • If you selected BMCDefaultShiftProfile as the current analytics profile in version 2.0, BMCDefaultShiftProfile2 is installed as the current analytics profile in version 2.1 when you click Manage Shift Profile.
    • If you selected another shift profile as the current profile for analytics in version 2.0, BMCDefaultShiftProfile2 is installed in version 2.1 when you click Manage Shift Profile, but the current profile for analytics in version 2.0 remains the current profile for analytics in version 2.1.


  4. In the Add Shift Profile dialog box, add profile shifts by clicking Add next to Profile Shifts.

  5. In the Add Profile Shift dialog box:

    1. Enter a profile shift name. 
    2. Select a color for the shift from the Profile Shift Color list.
    3. Click Accept.

  6. In the Add Shift Profile dialog box, to define the hours in a shift:
    1. In the Add Shift Profile dialog box, select a shift.
    2. In the grid, select hours. You can select a row, a column, or individual cells in the grid.defining_hours.PNG

To add shift profiles

  1. In the Add Shift Profile dialog box, enter values in each field, as described in the following table:

    Field

    Description

    Profile Name

    Specifies a name of the shift profile

    Select Template

    Displays the previously defined profiles

    Profile Group

    Identifies either an LPAR or Sysplex as the profile group

    To add a profile group, click Add next to Profile Group. Enter the profile group name and select the group profile type. You can add multiple profile groups.

    Profile Group Identifiers

    Specifies the name of the LPAR or Sysplex that you selected as the profile group

    To add an LPAR or a Sysplex, click Add beside Profile Group Identifiers. You can add multiple group identifiers.

  2. Click Add Shift Profile.

    The profile shift is displayed in the Manage Shift Profiles dialog box.
