Banding option
You can use the Banding option to analyze a series. When you use banding on a series, the upper and lower statistical boundaries for a given metric/object are displayed in the chart. The width of the band is defined by the standard deviation and median calculated for a given metric/object taking into account its weekly shift activity.
- To use the Banding option, click
under the Actions column below the chart.
You adjust the banding width of a metric by using the Lower and Upper Bands option in Advanced Options. You can create alerts for each metric by using the upper and lower limit of a band width set in the chart. - To adjust the lower and upper limits of the banding, select Advanced Options and click Lower and Upper Bands.
- From the Select the metric you would like to adjust list, select the metric that you want to adjust.
- Set the upper and lower limits of the band by using the slider under the Adjust Banding Sensitivity option.
The band width that you select here is applicable to only one metric. Adjusting the width of the band can increase or decrease the number of alerts that are triggered. Click Save Advanced Options.
When you save the advanced options, the chart data is regenerated for the current category. Bands will appear only if you have enabled banding before doing the Advanced Options. Otherwise, click the Banding button to show or hide the band.
