Installing products using JCL files

This section describes how to install the products using a JCL file.

To install products using JCL file

  1. Complete the steps provided in Electronic-delivery.
  2. Edit member AINSTALL in data set prefix.PASM.CNTL.
    1. Edit the job card to conform to your system requirements.
    2. Specify parameter values in the two customization sections at the top of the file.
    3. Save your edits to the AINSTALL member.
  3. Submit the AINSTALL job. 
    The user ID should be the same as the one that you used when submitting the job to unpack the image file. The job will create several data sets that are named using the hiqual and midqual parameters. Those data sets should not already exist. 

          After the AINSTALL job completes successfully, the product is properly installed.

Warning

Important

After verifying that the installation was successful, you can delete the downloaded image file and the expanded installation data sets that have middle qualifier PASM. The data sets whose names begin with hiqual.midqual are product data sets. You should not delete the product data sets.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
