Overview of the CDB Graph Exploration Tool

You can use the CDB Graph Exploration Tool to:

  • Create graphs using data from multiple time spans and sources including business extensions
  • Modify the contents of a graph
  • Customize the appearance of a graph
  • Save and print graphs
  • Copy a graph to the clipboard or export it to a PDF file

Using the graph exploration tool involves the following tasks:

  1. Create a new project or open an existing one.
A project is a workspace in which you can create one or more views of a graph.
  2. Define one or more graph views.
A view sets the 'look and feel' of the graph. For example, a bar chart vs a line graph, axis orientation, and so on. You can define multiple views for the same graph and customize their appearance.
  3. Run the CDB Stream Wizard.
This wizard enables you to create a data stream of relations, class references, and properties of objects within the specified interval. You can also modify, copy, and remove data streams.
  4. Create and save the graph.
You create the graph within the context of the project, views, and data streams that you create.
