Editing or viewing data policy global options

To edit or view data policy global option values

1. Access the Data Optimization Policy panel or the Data Policy Definition panel.For more information, see Editing-or-viewing-a-data-policy-definition.

2. Access the Data Policy Global Options pop-up panel by choosing Options => 6 (Data policy global options) on the action bar, and pressing Enter.

   Success

   Tip

   You can also access this option by entering Globals on the Command line.

   The Data Policy Global Options pop-up panel is displayed.

3. Specify values that serve as the default optimization values.These values are used in cases where an optimization value on a data policy was left blank. You can specify or change the same information on the Data Policy Global Options pop-up panel as you did on the Data Policy Definition panel. For more information, see Editing-or-viewing-a-data-policy-definition.

   The following figure shows an example of the panel. The customization process defines these sample global options.

   Note

   If you leave the value for an optimization option blank on the Data Policy Definition panel, BMC AMI Batch Optimizer  uses the values that you specified on the Data Policy Global Options pop-up panel.

   The Data Policy Global Options pop-up panel is scrollable and might include a More: field.

4. (optional) Make changes to an entry field by positioning the cursor in the field, and typing a new value. Clear any characters that remain from the previously displayed value. Repeat this step for each field that you want to edit.
5. (optional) Press Enter to save your changes, or press F12 (Cancel) to discard your changes.The Data Policy Definition panel is displayed. Use this panel to commit changes to the control data set.
6. (optional) Commit the changes to the control data set by choosing File => 2 (Save Policy).The changed data policy is saved, and the Data Policy Definition panel is displayed.
