Creating a new data policy in the control data set


Use this procedure to create a new data policy in the control data set.

Success

Tip

You can also create a new data policy by copying and renaming an existing data policy, which is useful for creating data policies that have similar settings.

To create a new data policy in the control data set

  1. Access the BMC AMI Batch Optimizer Objects List panel (see the following figure).

  2. Choose File => 1 (New) or type E next to the <New> line.The New Definition pop-up panel is displayed (see the following figure).

  3. Enter the following information, and then press Enter:

    • In the Definition type field, enter 3 for the definition type to specify that you are creating a data policy.
    • In the Member suffix field, enter a two-character suffix.

      The characters can be alphabetic, numeric, or the characters $, @, or #. These characters are appended to the prefix DATPOL to form the data policy name. For example, if you enter 02, the data policy is named DATPOL02. For more information about naming conventions for control data set members, see theInstallation System documentation.

    • (optional) In the Comment field, enter up to 22 characters of text that describe this data policy.

    The Data Policy Global Options panel is displayed.
