Step 1. Verify file transfer and perform TSO RECEIVE

Before proceeding, make sure that you have followed the Mainframe File Upload Instructions you received with the product software to do the following:

  • Transfer files to the mainframe.
  • Edit the job card in the sample UNLOAD (for example, hlq.prodid.UNLOAD) JCL to TSO RECEIVE the product files that were sent to the mainframe and are in TSO XMIT format.
  • Submit the job to RECEIVE the uploaded files into data sets. Note that XMIT format files which are partitioned data sets (PDS) are restored during the RECEIVE execution.

The sample JCL is located in the hlq.prodid.UNLOAD data set.

Important

The specific data set name was listed in the lower portion of the Mainframe Upload dialog as shown in the Mainframe upload dialog (lower portion) figure in Select-items-for-upload.

Obtain the dialog PDS from the ECC installation BMC EP media.

Make a note of the BMC Installer data set name:
