We recommend using the Receive From Network (RFN) installation procedure described in RFN SMPE installation of BMC AMI DevX mainframe products. The alternate procedures in SMPE-installation-by-using-the-EP-media-interface are intended for those sites that use the EP interface to perform a full SMP/E installation. The alternate procedures in this appendix are intended for those sites that first use the EP interface, but only to upload product files to the mainframe and not to generate and/or submit the JCL for SMP/E installation. To complete the SMP/E installation, use the BMC Installer as described below.
