Functional Test Quick Installation Summary

The following is a summary of the overall steps necessary to install all components for BMC Compuware Topaz for Total Test Release 20.05, specifically for Topaz for Total Test Non-virtualized Test, also called Functional Test. Detail instructions can be found in separate documents, which are described in the following section. 

Tip

Topaz for Total Test Non-virtualized Test, has some features that require the Total Test Repository Server and z/OS Agent configuration to be completed before these can be used. This specifically is related to testing in a real CICS environment and testing sub programs with a linkage section in Batch. Specifically, palette elements Functional Test, Verify Data sets, Read Records and Write Records require the Repository Server and the z/OS Agent configuration.

All other non-virtualized/functional Batch testing in the BMC Compuware Topaz Workbench works out-of-the-box and does not require the Total Test Repository Server and additional z/OS Agent configuration.

Non-virtualized Test is a component of Topaz for Total Test and requires several products to be installed and configured:

  1. BMC Compuware Enterprise Common Components (ECC) Release 17.02 — with USS and Non-virtualized Test PTFs applied (included in the latest maintenance)
  2. MongoDB
  3. BMC Compuware Web Products Topaz for Total Test (Web Client) Release 20.05
    • BMC Compuware Enterprise Services (CES) server and Topaz for Total Test Repository Server
  4.   BMC Compuware Topaz WorkbenchTopaz for Total Test (Eclipse Client) Release 20.05
