Rename a z/OS UNIX file or folder

z/OS UNIX files and folders can be easily renamed in Host Explorer.

To rename a z/OS UNIX file or folder

  1. In Host Explorer, right-click the desired file or folder and select Rename. The Rename dialog box appears.
    Important: There is a limited number of characters allowed in this field so adjust the new name accordingly.
  2. Click the New Name field and type a new name for the resource.
  3. Click Rename. The file or folder is renamed. The results column of the Rename dialog box shows the results of the rename action.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
