Create Two-tier Access Path Definition


Two-tier access path defines the translate table fields that will be searched first for tier-one access and the access type for tier-two access to the translate table.

To create a Two-tier Access Path definition:

  1. From the Resource Administration stack bar on the Data Privacy Menu, select Manage Translate Tables. The Manage Translate Tables view appears.
  2. Select the desired translate table. Click the Access Paths' Add button and select Two Tier. The Two Tier Access Path dialog box appears.
  3. In the Tier-one: Table Access Options area, select the Translate Table Fields to be searched for tier-one access to the table.
  4. In the Tier-two Options area, select Hash, Sequential, or Random access type for tier-two access to the table.
  5. Optionally, select a user defined hash function from the Optional Custom Hash drop-down list.
  6. Click OK. Your access path now appears in the Access Path list.
