VSAM datasets

Host Explorer supports the following functionality for VSAM datasets:

Important

VSAM dataset browse/edit functionality is available via the File-AID Data Editor and only for File-AID Data Editor-supported VSAM types. Refer to the File-AID Data Editor help for information on the VSAM dataset types that are supported.

The icons in the following table are associated with VSAM datasets in Host Explorer.

VSAM dataset - Currently supported VSAM types: KSDS, ESDS, RRDS, and Linear.

Migrated dataset - This can be recalled to become an active dataset (see Recall migrated datasets for an explanation of how to recall a migrated dataset).

Migrated datasets are only shown if Display migrated datasets is selected.
