Cut, copy, and paste online project resources

Online project resources can be cut, copied, and pasted from one location to another. Resources include PDS, PDS members, sequential files, folders, MVS files, DB2 tables, and IMS tables.

To cut, copy, and paste resources

1. In Project Explorer, right-click the resources and select Cut or Copy from the context menu. Resources of the same type can be multi-selected.

   Important

   Optionally, drag and drop functionality allows resources to be moved to the target location.

2. Navigate to the target location, right-click it, and select Paste, noting the following restrictions:

  • The target location can be any folder or the root of an online project that is linked to the same LPA
  • Copying across LPARS is not supporte
  • The target location for PDS members must be another PDS dataset on the same hos
  • A copybook concatenation folder is not a valid target locatio
  • Context menu options and toolbar buttons are disabled when invalid actions are take

For all resources except PDS members, the copy or move operation is reflected in the Project Explorer view. For PDS members, the copy or move operation is reflected in both the Project Explorer view and on the mainframe in that the resources are also copied or moved on the mainframe.
