Offline_Changing a Resource's File Extension

Use the Change File Extension dialog box to change the file extension of resources. When a resource is added to a Compuware Mainframe Project, it is given an extension based on the z-OS-dataset-extension-mappings. Resources that cannot be mapped are given a .data extension, which the user may want to change.

To change a resource's file extension

1. In Project Explorer, right-click a dataset or one or more members and select Change File Extension. The Change File Extension dialog box appears.

   Important

   Resources can be multi-selected. If a dataset is selected, the extension will be changed for all of its members.

2.  In the file extension field, either type the extension to use or select it from the drop-down list.
3. Click Finish. The updated extensions appear in the Project Explorer view. In order to keep online project resources in sync, when the extension for a resource in an online project is changed, the extension is changed for that resource in all online projects that contain it; however, the extension is not changed for that resource within offline projects.
