Search preferences

The Preferences dialog box's Search page is used to set preferences regarding search operations, such as the number of records to be returned by a z/OS dataset search and whether to display line numbers in search results.

To set the search limit

  1. Do one of the following:

    • From the Window menu, select Preferences. Then, from the navigation panel, select Compuware>Search.
    • In the Search dialog box's Host Explorer Dataset Search page or File-AID Dataset Search page, click Preferences.

    The Search preference page appears.

  2. In the Limit number of records returned to field, enter the maximum number of records you want to appear in the Search view following a z/OS dataset search. The default is 10,000 records and the limit is 99999 records. When searching, a message indicates appears if there are more matching records than the limit allows to be shown.
  3. Click OK.
