Delete a shared directory and database

To delete one or more DDIO shared directories or databases

  1. Right-click the resource(s) you want to delete and select Delete. The Delete dialog box appears and lists the resources chosen for deletion.

    Important

Delete is not enabled for the data component of a shared directory or database dataset.

  2. Click Delete. The results of the delete request appear in the Results column of the Delete dialog box. The involved resources are updated in Host Explorer.

Important

It is recommended when deleting a shared directory within Host Explorer that any attached databases be deleted at the same time. Failure to do this can cause potential corruption of the databases. If it is desired to retain the databases, please use the Compuware Shared Services (CSS) utilities on the mainframe to perform the delete.
