Show Inactive Tasks

Inactive tasks are tasks that are not active in the ISPW life cycle datasets. Show Inactive Tasks functionality allows users to change whether inactive tasks appear in an ISPW view. By default, inactive tasks are hidden. When shown, inactive tasks are distinguished by the inactive-tasks.png icon.

Some tasks, however, are unaffected by the inactive task setting, as follows:

  • Inactive tasks with a status of Fallback always appear in the view but do not have the inactive task icon (inactive-tasks.png).
  • Inactive tasks with a status of Renamed always appear in the view but do not have the inactive task icon (inactive-tasks.png). A task has this status if it has been renamed. See the ISPW User Guide for more information on tasks with Renamed status.
  • All tasks with a status of Acknowledge always appear in the view with the inactive task icon (inactive-tasks.png). A task has this status if it requires attention because another user has overlaid or replaced it at this specific life cycle level. See the ISPW User Guide for more information on tasks with Acknowledge status.

To change whether inactive tasks are shown or hidden

From the View menu (viewmenu.jpg) in a view that supports tasks (with the exception of the ISPW Set view), select Show Inactive Tasks. The view refreshes to show inactive tasks that were previously hidden or to hide inactive tasks that were previously shown. When shown, inactive tasks are distinguished by the inactive-tasks.png icon, except as noted above.

Warning

Important

In the View menu, a check mark (checked.png) next to Show Inactive Tasks indicates that inactive tasks are currently being shown. If no check mark appears, inactive tasks are currently hidden.
