Running Test Scenarios
Starting with Release 20.04.01, Topaz for Total Test uses the Execution Context Dialog to execute both Virtualized Test (Unit Test) scenarios and Non-virtualized test (Functional Test) scenarios.
The Execution Context Dialog is now only showing the information needed to execute the test scenarios. The number of tabs shown depends on what kind of test scenarios is being executed.
For detailed descriptions, see Options . Each time you execute a Topaz for Total Test test scenario, you will see the Execution Context dialog below.
- IMS
- CICS
- Db2
- Statically linked sub-programs
To open the Execution Context dialog:
Perform one of the following actions:
- Click
Execute in the top right corner in the test scenario editor
- Right-click a .scenario or .testscenario file in the Project Explorer and select
Topaz for Total Test >
Execute Total Test Scenario or
Topaz for Total Test >
Run Total Test Scenario…
- Double-click a .context file in the Project Explorer.
The content of the dialog depends on your Preferences setting. When Use Repository server is checked in the Repository preferences, the Environment tab shows the Environment Login section. The Environment combo box will only show when there are Functional Test elements in the test scenario.

When Use Repository server is unchecked, the Environment tab shows the Host connection section allowing you to use HCI connections.

After clicking OK, the dialog will create a context (.context) file with same name and in the same Scenarios directory, if a context (.context) file for the test scenario does not exist. Next time the Topaz for Total Test test scenario is executed, the context file will be used to initiate the dialog with data.
The context files are visible by default in the Project Explorer view. You can choose to hide them by clicking the Filter (triangle) button in the view menu, select Filters and Customization, and then select the Topaz for Total Test files option.
