Close

This functionality is used to change an assignment, release, or set to inactive. The assignment, release, or set is archived and all user connections to it are removed. Any tasks that are not checked out are deleted. Any non-production inactive tasks are deleted.

To close an assignment or a release

From the Containers view, right-click the container and select Close.

The selected container is deleted. If, however, the container could not be deleted, a message appears showing the reason for the failure.

To close a set

Do one of the following to close a set, which can only be done when the set is completed or terminated:

  • From the Approvals view, right-click an entry and select Modify Set>Close.
  • From the Containers view, right-click one or more sets and select Close.
  • From the Tasks view, Assignment view, or Release view, right-click a task and select Modify Set>Close.
  • From the Set view, right-click a task and select Modify Set>Close or, from the View menu, select Close.

Important

Modify Set only appears if the task is associated with the set, such as when the action being processed (generate, promote, and so on) doesn't complete. Further, only the applicable actions appear in the submenu.

If only one container was selected, the Modify Assignment dialog box appears (for an assignment or a release) or the Close Set Results dialog box appears (for sets); click OK. If, however, the container could not be changed to inactive, a message appears showing the reason for the failure.

If multiple containers were selected, the Close Container Results or the Close Set Results dialog box appears showing the reasons for the failures if any could not be changed to inactive. Click OK. The remaining sets are changed to inactive.

Important

Any user tag is disabled when an assignment or release is closed.
