Creating a copybook concatenation list for an online project


Follow this procedure to indicate the order in which to find copybooks for an online project.

For offline projects, refer to Concatenation Lists Preferences.

  1. In Project Explorer, do either of the following:

    • Right-click the online project node, the online project’s Copybook Concatenation node, or any folders or files, and select Configure>Configure Copybook Concatenation List.
    • Right-click the online project and select Properties. The Properties dialog box appears. If not already selected, select Copybook Concatenation List in the left pane.

    The Copybook Concatenation List page appears.

  2. Click Add. The Add Datasets dialog box appears.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Enter one dataset per lin
    • Click Browse to browse to and select datasets. The Dataset Selection dialog box appears. Select the host, enter the filter, and click Search to find datasets matching the filter. Then select the desired datasets and click OK. The resources are added to the Add Datasets dialog box.
  4. Click OK. The datasets are added to the Copybook Concatenation List dialog box.
  5. Optionally, do any of the following:
    • Edit the dataset name by selecting it and clicking Edit. Edit the name and click OK. The updated name appears on the Copybook Concatenation List page.
    • Remove a dataset from the concatenation list by selecting it and clicking Remove. The dataset is removed from the Copybook Concatenation List page.
    • Arrange datasets in the desired priority search order by selecting them and using the Move Up and Move Down buttons. Datasets can be multi-selected.
    • Validate the dataset by selecting it and clicking Validate. When validation processing is complete, a message appears indicating success or failure. Failure occurs for any of the following reasons:
    • not found - The dataset does not exis
    • not partitioned - The dataset is not a PDS or PDS
    • migrated - The dataset is migrated and must be recalled before it can be validate
    • no READ authority - The user does not have read access to the datase
  6. Click OK. The concatenation list appears in the Project Explorer view in a "Copybook Concatenation" node under the online project. The list reflects the search order in which the datasets were arranged in the Copybook Concatenation List dialog box.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
