Accessing z/OS Datasets
Following are the instructions for accessing z/OS datasets.
If you have not already started Topaz Workbench and File-AID Data Editor, see Opening-the-File-AID-Data-Editor.
To Access the File-AID Data Editor z/OS (MVS) Editor:
You must define a filter to access z/OS datasets. Right-click on z/OS Datasets and select Add Filter. The Filter dialog box appears.
- Fill in the Filter (fully qualified dataset name) for the z/OS datasets you want to access. You can use the asterisk (*) wild card at any node of the dataset name including the first character. Filters for z/OS datasets are case insensitive: if you enter lower case characters, they will match upper case names in the catalog. Click OK to save and process the filter.
Select the z/OS dataset you want to browse or edit, then either double-click, or right-click and select File-AID Data Editor. The z/OS File-AID Data Editor Request view appears. For more information, see Requesting-z-OS-Datasets.
- Enter your layout usage and selection criteria, then click Run. This will navigate to the data editor where you can view or edit your data.
