Changing the Communication Manager
The current communication manager is used to identify which repositories are available throughout Topaz for Enterprise Data. Most users will only make use of the <LOCAL> communication manager which is installed with Topaz for Enterprise Data.
Advanced users may choose to use the communication manager that is installed with File-AID Services. This remote communication manager can be used to share repositories with multiple users or for integration with Topaz for Total Test.
There are several factors to consider when setting the current communication manager:
- Before changing the communication manager, save any specifications currently being edited and close all Topaz for Enterprise Data applications, such as Repository Manager, ConverterPro, and ComparePro.
- Select the communication manager for current usage.
- When using a remote communication manager for the first time, use the Repository Manager Utility to add shared repositories.
- Specifications stored in repositories defined on a remote communication manager can be edited within Topaz but can only be executed on standalone execution servers.
- The CLI from Topaz for Total Test to Topaz for Enterprise Data requires the remote communication manager.
When using a remote communication manager after configuring repositories, ComparePro application must be opened to set the results repository to a newly configured repository.
