Tutorial: Test a Main Batch Program

This tutorial will learn you how to test a main batch program by setting up an input dataset to be read by the program, compare an output dataset with an expected output dataset and verify content in a Read Spool File from the job in which the program writes. You will use the Non-virtualized Test demo program XAPGMBT1 that reads a number of car manufacturer names from an input file, looks up car info in Db2 and writes an output file with records of cars.

It is assumed that the XAPGMBT1 is already defined in the repository.

XAPGMBT1 will not normally run at a customer installation as it uses Db2. The exercise can still be completed without actually executing the test scenario.
