Topaz Workbench Topaz for Total Test User Guide
When you use this space, it is presumed that,
- Topaz for Total Test has already been properly installed, and, if necessary, customized for your specific environment.
For details, see the separate document Topaz Workbench Installation Guide. Topaz for Total Test mainframe test runner (Virtualized Test) and z/OS Agent (Non-virtualized test) modules included in the Enterprise Common Components (ECC) product have already been properly installed with current maintenance applied, and, if necessary, customized for your specific environment.

- Topaz for Total Test Web Client has already been properly installed, and, if necessary, customized for your specific environment.

To use the features of Topaz for Total Test:
- Compuware Host Explorer, Xpediter, Xpediter/CICS, Xpediter/Code Coverage, and Xpediter/Eclipse features must also be installed.
- For Topaz Workbench users, the Host Explorer is included with the kit and is installed accordingly.
Performance
- Edit the topaz.ini file in your installation directory of Topaz Workbench (by default the path is C:\Program Files\Compuware\Topaz Workbench\eclipse):
- Find the entries:
-Xms256m
-Xmx2048m - Change them to:
-Xms512m
-Xmx3072m
This change increases the amount of memory available to the Topaz Workbench and Topaz for Total Test.
When working with very large data structures, change the setting to:
-Xms2048m
-Xmx4096m - Save the topaz.ini file and restart Topaz Workbench.
- Find the entries:
- Alternatively, you can create a Windows shortcut to override the memory values specified in the topaz.ini file without making changes to the executable file:
- Right-click the topaz.exe file in your installation directory of Topaz Workbench (by default the path is C:\Program Files\Compuware\Topaz Workbench\eclipse).
- Select Create Shortcut.
- Click Yes in the pop-up to create the shortcut on the desktop.
- Go to your desktop.
- Right-click the newly created shortcut icon.
- Select Properties.
- In the Target field of the Shortcut tab, add the following memory parameters to the end of the entry, for example:
C:\Program Files\Compuware\Topaz Workbench\eclipse\topaz.exe -vmargs -Xms512m -Xmx3072m - Click OK.
- Double-click the shortcut to start Topaz Workbench with the new memory parameter values.
