Update Replace Component Version

The Replace Version With dialog box allows users to change the “can replace version” to override strict version control, saying that the current version is allowed to replace the version above it in the life cycle. The value it is changed to must correspond to a valid internal version from a different version of the same component that is active and has a environment of either HOLD or PROD. Update Replace Version allows users to promote a component “out of order”; hopefully after careful investigation of the versions involved. The use of this operation can be independently secured to limit its use.

To access the Replace Version With dialog box

From an applicable view, right-click a component version and select Update Replace Version. The Replace Version With dialog box appears.

To change the “can replace version”

Revise the fields as necessary based on the field definitions.
