Set permissions for z/OS UNIX files


Follow the procedure below to set permissions on a z/OS UNIX file or folder, which grants various types of users read, write, and/or execute authority.

To set permissions on a z/OS UNIX file or folder

  1. In Host Explorer, right-click the file or folder for which permissions are to be set and select Permissions. The Permissions dialog box appears showing the current permissions.
  2. For each user type (Owner, Group, Others), select the check boxes for the type of permissions to be granted (read, write, and execute) and clear the check boxes where no permissions are desired.
  3. Click OK.
