Registers and the Registers View

General purpose registers and their values can be viewed and edited from the Registers view during a debug session. Since registers are tied to a stack frame, a stack frame item must be selected in the Debug view in order for Xpediter/Eclipse display registers in the Registers view.

The registers in the view are updated when execution is suspended.

To change the value of a register

Do either of the following:

  • In the Registers view's Value column, select the value to be changed and type over it with the new value.
  • In the Registers view, right-click the value to be changed and select Change Value. In the Set Value dialog box, enter the new value and click OK.

To view a register’s value in memory

In the Registers view, right-click the register and select Display Memory. The Memory view appears with the register’s value highlighted. Refer to Memory-and-the-Memory-View for more information about viewing memory.
