Connections Preferences Page
The Connections preferences page is used to connect to an ISPW instance. Normally this would be the production ISPW instance, but the ISPW administrator might need to connect to other ISPW instances, such as a test ISPW. Using this page, users can add, edit, and remove connections.
To add a connection
- From the Window menu, select Preferences. The Preferences dialog box appears.
- Toggle open Compuware>ISPW and select Connections. The Connection preference page appears.
- Click Configure. The Host Connections dialog box appears.
- Click Add. The Add Host Connection dialog box appears.
Enter the connection information. See to the Topaz Workbench Host Explorer User Guide for details on using this dialog box.
- Click OK. The connection is added to the Connection page.
- In the Runtime configuration field, do one of the following:
- Enter the name of a runtime configuratio A runtime configuration represents a group of settings (dataset allocations, site customizations, skeleton JCLs, Clists) that can be applied to an ISPW server. An ISPW server can have multiple runtime configurations, but only one can be active at a time.
Leave the field blank to use the default runtime configuration for this ISPW serve
To read/write files through a CT connection, which allows encryption of the CT communication, from the Encryption protocol list, select the type of encrypted secure TLS connection to be enabled by doing one of the following:
- Select None to disable any encrypted secure CT connection.
- Select Auto to have the protocol determined when the HTTPS connection is established. Selecting Auto will not detect if there is no encryption protocol configured.
- Select an encryption protocol from the available choice
- Click OK.
- Whenever a call to the host is required, the Login Credentials dialog box appears so the user can supply login credentials. An error message appears if there is no HCI configured, the HCI is not configured for ISPW, the HCI is not compatible with ISPW, or ISPW is not responding correctly.
To edit a connection
- From the Window menu, select Preferences. The Preferences dialog box appears.
- Toggle open Compuware and select Host Connections. The Host Connection preference page appears.
- Select the connection and click Edit. The Edit Host Connection dialog box appears.
- Edit the connection information as needed.
- Click OK. The connection information is updated on the Host Connections page.
To remove a connection
- From the Window menu, select Preferences. The Preferences dialog box appears.
- Toggle open Compuware and select Host Connections. The Host Connection preference page appears.
- Select the connection and click Remove.
- Click OK. The connection is removed from the Host Connections page.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
