Local History Compares
To view the local history of a Compuware mainframe project resource
A dated local history of a saved offline Compuware mainframe project resource can be viewed in the History view. This listing displays only the local history regardless of whether the resource was ever committed to the z/OS mainframe.
Note: This functionality applies only to offline mainframe projects.
- Right-click a resource within the Project Explorer and select either of the following:
- Compare with>Local History
- Team>Show Local History
The History view appears with date/time stamp information for the various versions of the resource. The version in bold is the most recently saved version.
- If desired, do either of the following:
- Open the resource by right-clicking it in the History view and selecting Open or Open with>editor name.
To compare the resource with another version
Local versions of a resource can be compared to each other. This compare does not compare a local version to a version committed to z/OS.
Note: This functionality applies only to offline mainframe projects.
- The bold top entry in the History view is called the "local" version; it is the most recently saved version.
- The entry you select in the History view is called the "current" version.
To compare two versions of a resource, do any of the following:
- Select the two versions in the History view, right-click, and select Compare with Each Other.
- Select a version other than the bold top entry, right-click, and select Compare Current with Local. This compares the selected version with the bold top entry, which is the most recently saved version.
A split-screen editor appears with comparative mark-up between the local historical version and the current version.
